Spanish Red

The brick of the King Boudewijn Stadium

The (non-perforated) facing brick is sanded on five sides. The surface may be given a frog (a slanted oblong groove) on its bed. The structure looks rugged with fine and irregular grooves in the sandy surface. The firing process takes place in a gas-heated tunnel kiln.

The hues range from orange red to bright red as a result of the treatment and sanding of the typical red baking Kesselt löss clay with brownish-red fine-grained sand. The colours shown are a near reflection of reality.
