Pallas
Aspect and structure
- The (non-perforated) facing brick is sanded on five sides.
- The surface may be given a frog (a slanted oblong groove) on its bed.
- The firing process takes place in a gas-heated tunnel kiln.
- The bricks have a rough structure, irregular shape, and a strong resemblance to recovered bricks.
- The brick’s retro appearance is achieved by using a tumbling process.
Colour
- The brick has a red base, with hues ranging from red to warm orange-red with white and yellow shadings and blue sediments, in which the white deposits are clearly present.
- The ageing process also influences the colour shades.
- The colours shown are a near reflection of reality.
