Yes and no 🙂

Our bricks are made from loess clay, which comes in two base types: red-firing and yellow-firing. By blending them, you can also create pink-firing clay. During firing, the clay changes colour (red, yellow, or pink). Adding specific minerals creates further variations: red + manganese results in a dark brown, while yellow + manganese gives a grey-beige tone. The sand finish and surface treatments (such as iron oxide for a bluish sheen) also influence the final appearance.

Why does this matter when mixing?

Each clay colour shrinks differently during firing, which means there can be small dimensional differences between bricks of different clay types. In traditional mortared façades this can often be compensated for by the joint thickness, but for thin joints or glued façades it becomes more challenging.

In our Mix & Jointtool, you can freely mix all bricks to create an example or find inspiration.

👉 Would you like to build this combination in real life? Keep in mind that bricks made from different clay types may vary slightly in size. It’s best to discuss your mix with your contact person or showroom advisor - we’ll gladly help check whether your selection is also technically feasible.

Have you found a combination that is a technical match?

Great. Then you just have one choice left to make: do we deliver them on separate pallets (cheaper, mix yourself) or do we mix them ready-to-use in the factory (convenience, extra charge)?
