On Sunday, October 2, Nelissen Bricks welcomed more than 3000 people to its factory site. Visitors from across Limburg and beyond traveled to the brick manufacturer in Lanaken as part of Voka’s Open Business Day. “The enthusiasm of our visitors motivates us to keep moving forward,” says CEO Burt Nelissen.
With over 3000 visitors, Nelissen can proudly call the event a success. “We’re indeed delighted with this wonderful turnout,” says Burt Nelissen, one of the three CEOs at Nelissen. “The fact that so many people came to visit our factory and showroom shows there’s still significant interest in our sector. This gives both me and all the other Nelissen employees a great feeling of pride.”
Almost-CO₂-neutral factory
Burt Nelissen reflects on a successful day with satisfaction. “The interest and enthusiasm expressed by the public inspire us to continue, even in the challenging times we’re currently facing. The high energy and raw material prices, as well as the extended delivery times for technical materials, are our main challenges. However, we remain optimistic about the future!”
“At this moment, it’s essential to think long-term,” says Burt. And Nelissen already has exciting plans in place. “In the future, we aim to focus on a new almost-CO₂-neutral factory. Once it’s fully operational, we’d be delighted to invite all interested parties to visit us again,” concludes the CEO.
