Don’t panic, but stop bricklaying immediately. It is crucial that you do not use up your remaining stock entirely before the new delivery arrives on-site. As facing bricks are a natural product, a 100% exact colour match can never be guaranteed for a reorder.
Contact your dealer
Get in touch with the dealer where you purchased the bricks as soon as possible. They have your file and all the technical details required to place the reorder correctly.
Keep in mind that clay is a natural product. Factors such as the composition of raw materials and the kiln temperature mean that every production run can have unique, subtle nuances. Therefore, a reorder may differ slightly from the previous delivery.
Application (Crucial!)
Once the extra bricks have been delivered: mixing is key.
- Mixing: We strongly recommend thoroughly mixing the new bricks with the remnants of your previous delivery. Open at least 3 to 5 pallets simultaneously and take the bricks out diagonally.
- Masking the transition: By mixing the old and new bricks well ("blending them together"), the natural nuances are distributed evenly across the facade. This prevents any visible colour patches and ensures a smooth result.
Tip for next time (or new builders)
The best way to minimise the risk of nuance differences is to order everything at once.
- Use our calculator: Calculate the number of bricks accurately based on your m².
- Allow for cutting loss: Always include a standard extra percentage for breakage and cutting. This ensures you have sufficient margin from the same delivery and avoids the risk of colour variations.
