Nelissen Bricks, together with Yuco, is developing a new generation of brick slips. These innovative geopolymer slips combine the look and technical properties of ceramic variants but are produced without the baking process.
The development of non-ceramic brick slips is a thoughtful addition to Nelissen’s ceramic range. It is a step towards greater diversification of the offering for ETICS and prefab system owners.
The brick slips have already been extensively tested and proven to be compatible with ETICS facade systems. Testing in prefab applications is also promising, with an eye on further integration into modular construction methods.
Call for ETICS and prefab partners
“With Yuco, we are developing a technology that responds to the future of facade construction,” says Werner de Bresser, Director Yuco Steenstrippen. “We are actively looking for various ETICS and prefab partners to further align our brick slips with both existing and future facade solutions. We invite interested parties to collaborate with us and optimize their system through our product, creating a total solution for now and the future.”
The technology is not yet commercially available. Market introduction and scaling will follow at a later stage.
Sustainability of ceramic production
In addition to the development of geopolymer brick slips, Nelissen Bricks continues to focus on the sustainability of ceramic brick production. The company aims to reduce its CO₂ emissions by 42% by 2030.
