Ronald Wijnants completes the direction team at Nelissen Bricks

The various members of the direction team – Betsy Lathouwers (Finance Director), Kim Vandebosch (Commercial Director), Kathy De Bruyne (HR Director) and Ronald Wijnants (Production Director) – together with the support of CEO Joeri Gevers, are all well positioned to realise these goals.

LANAKEN, 21/03/2024 – The direction team at Nelissen Steenfabrieken is now complete thanks to the recent appointment of Ronald Wijnants as Production Director. This key role has been recently filled, strengthening the organisation's commitment to achieving an even more efficient production process. Ronald Wijnants has taken on responsibility for the day-to-day management of production activities within the family business.

And he is no stranger to the neighbourhood, having worked until recently at Sappi Lanaken as the Production Manager. The closure of Sappi came as a hard blow for Ronald, but he is now extremely happy with his new role on the Nelissen direction team. “Although the closure of Sappi came as a disappointment after my long career spent with the company, I am tremendously excited to join the Nelissen family. And I’m looking forward to a rock-solid cooperation!”, said Ronald.

Nelissen are also very much looking forward to the arrival of their new Production Director, who brings with him no less than 35 years of experience in production. Burt Nelissen – one of the three CEOs together with Carlos Jorissen and Joeri Gevers – is pleased that new blood is joining the company and feels confident in transferring some of his duties over to Ronald. “For more than 30 years I have been in charge of managing all our production activities on a daily basis. From now on, this job will fall to Ronald and I'm sure our production will be in good hands with him,” explained Burt.

Focus on sustainability
As CEO, Burt will continue to play an active role in the company, but will shift his main focus to a sustainable energy transition and the meeting of climate goals. Paul Sino will be working with Burt on these projects. Previously the Operational Manager, Paul will now be taking on the role of Sustainability Manager and focusing with Burt on sustainable forward-looking plans and projects.
